European Missile Defense System

So Vlady Putin is pissed off that the U.S and it's allies wants to set up an anti-missile defense system in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Here's the deal Vlady: You sleep with IRAN, we have no choice. The world has no choice. Also, you were head of the KGB you commie bastard. We don't trust you. We can't trust you. We will and should never trust you.

Those of you have ever thought the Cold War ended, you are sadly mistaken. It's just changed, because they couldnt afford that war. Their intent and their motives are still the same. Once a commie, always a commie!

Like Hillary, once a socialist, always a socialist!

Everytime I do my laundry...I have missing socks. It doesnt matter what color sock, one is always missing. I ow have about 7 orphan socks missing their partners. They are lonely, and I don't know where they are. This really ticks me off to no end. Where are these socks? Does the washer eat them up? Does the dryer burn them to shreds? I need help here. I remember hearing or seeing some kind of laundry clip for socks...or maybe I'll throw them in a mesh bag instead. This is causing me great stress, and delays in my day. How can I day dream when I'm writing about missing socks? HOW?! Tell me. Help me now!

Do you know the muffin man?

Rangeled!

Senator Rangel has proposed a trillion dollar tax bill. Yes a trillion dollars. He wants to cut the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT), but raise taxes in other ways.

Reducing the AMT is fine, but increasing taxes by 1 trillion dollars is NOT. He's cutting on thing, but raising taxes on others. Typical tax and spend bs. Perhaps Rangel can explain what he has against charitable contributions; or the deduction for state and local taxes; or the home mortgage deduction at a time when the housing industry is tanking. All this does is tax small businesses, lower corporate taxes, yet increase taxes on those who make 200k or more. And since you are expecting, you should appreciate this: the bill increases the amount of the child credit that is currently refundable. Nice.

The bottom line: higher taxes, fewer jobs, and lower wages. But hey as long as we can fund some artsy fartsy program in Tribeca, that's all that matters!

Hey i thought lottery's were used to pay for schools? Oh yeah that's right, the money for schools goes to other crap, and then the lottery money goes to the schools. thus the schools never gain a penny.

68k people left Michigan last year...so now I have to pay more taxes for roads that are being used less? I should be getting a refund.

This country is in a mess.

First off let me say I am pulling for the Rockies om the World Series. I despise the Broncos and Avs, but I've always liked the Rockies. I never considered them the same for some reason. I don't care for the Red Sox nation along with all the east coast bias that comes from the sports writers. The Red Sox Nation is mostly contrived marketing bs if you ask me. Are you asking me?

Hey thanks for all the tips on the "Where's Dino" daily photos. I've used one of them, but yes the rest have all been out of my brain. Can you believe it?

Fox Sports coverage sucks. From football to baseball, they have never put out a good product. They try to be hip, but their constant barrage of annoying announcers and hosts are never ending. Jeanie Zalesko? Eric Byrnes? Make it stop.

A memo at CNN (The Clinton News Network) was spotted that indicated someone wanted to capitalize on the California fires for their Global Warming show. Have they now shame? And liberal puke Barbara Boxer of California says that the reason the fires are out of control is because of the war in Iraq. Someone slap her, and her sister Hillary now.

Do we really need on the spot reporters for natural disasters? Just send a camera man please. We don't need to see Matt Lauer walking on ashes, while people are losing their homes, animals are dying by the thousands, and firemen are risking their lives. They are in the way when they go to these things. We don't need them there. We don't care you are there, and we don't especially care that you were the first there. We watch the news, because we want the news, not because they were there first. Stupid news people...pretentious at best.

How come we choose from just two people for President and fifty for Miss America? That's why I'm voting for Ron Paul - on principle. I believe in smaller govt, and more freedom. Personal and financial freedom is the same thing, don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise.

You know what is annoying? The saying "It's 5 oclcok somewhere ". No it's not. Who told you this? Stop using it, it just shows you like to drink.

Facebook Inc. has sold a 1.6 percent stake to Microsoft Corp. for $240 million. I use both sites, but I find Facebook much more cleaner. Myspace is much easier to find people and become "friends", but it's a visual mess. Glitter graphics left and right, and it is spam central. Myspace could learn a thing or two from Facebook. Apparently MS has figured this out.

Why does Tony Kornheiser have to shout every word out of his mouth on Monday Night Football? I feel like I'm in my mom's kitchen. I long for the days of Dandy Don Merideth.

Suzy Kobler and Tina Fey are attractive. Thanks for agreeing with me.

I find Dane Cook World Series commercials utterly annoying. There's only one October??? REALLY!? WOW!! His voice bugs me. I wish he would just go away.

Hey hockey season started, has anyone noticed?

I have no comment on the Detroit Lions start. Please stop asking me.

Great college football season - best one in a while. Pulling for LSU so their coach can come to Michigan. I need PSU to beat OSU this week..a long shot but still the first real test for the Bucks.

Getting back to the those wildfires. We will always have them, we will always have dry weather and arson etc. I wonder though if we could someone build an infrastructure sprinkler system that could help. I mean large volumes of water to save all the buildings and wildlife. I would think the costs of that would be far less than the damage that has been done. Wishful thinking on my part.

Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?

An Inconvienient Nobel Peace Prize

How the liberal left makes this guy out to be a rock star is beyond me. Yeah I'm talking about Al Gore. Perhaps it's because they know the right can't stand this guy, so that's why they like him. I know a chick like this, you'd say you didn't like something, and she would do it out of spite. So I liken his popularity to the same mentality. He really doesn't say anything, but I guess it must be hip to like him - just to piss people off.

At any rate, the fact he has won the Nobel Peace Prize ranks up with them giving the award to Yassar Arafat, or even Jimmy Carter. That alone should tell you the award is a joke. Heck, anything that is International based always has a tinge of hokeyness to it - sort of like an Olympic Opening Ceremony. Pure pompous garbage.

People are always assuming that since I don't care for Gore that I am against the environment, that I some how support the oil companies. No, it's the opposite. But I need the truth, not some hype by a hypocrite who's home uses 5 times more energy than the average house; or by some hypocrite that burns jet fuel on his private plane. I need proof, and I need facts. They must be conclusive. They aren't. The same amount, if not more scientists refute all the global warming alarmist news that is brought out by Gore and his cronies. It could exist, it merits being looked at...sure. But I'm not going to live in fear, and watch these bastards support their GREEN economy just to expand it. Screw that noise.

The worlds time climate scientist William Gray came out and said that in 10 years we'll look back and laugh at the misinformation we've been fed. I wouldn't doubt it, since 10 years ago anything Al Gore said didn't come true either.

This is cool is it not - British Court Rules 'Inconvenient Truth' Represents 'Partisan Political Views,' Requires School Disclaimer. On October 2, 2007 a British court found Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, to be politically biased, and it ruled teachers must warn students of that bias before showing the film.

"The British court was swayed by numerous factual inaccuracies portrayed in the movie. Among them:

-- The film claims global warming is responsible for the gradual retreat of the alpine glacier atop Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro. Scientists have conclusively demonstrated no such link exists.

-- The film presents graphs indicating that fluctuating carbon dioxide levels have always preceded and caused global temperature fluctuations. In fact, temperature changes have always preceded carbon dioxide changes.

-- The film suggests global warming caused Hurricane Katrina. Few hurricane experts believe this, and substantial scientific evidence indicates global warming is having no impact on hurricane frequency or intensity.

-- The film asserts global warming is causing Central Africa's Lake Chad to dry up. In fact, land use practices are causing the drying up of Lake Chad, and Central Africa is in an unusual and prolonged wet period.

-- The film asserts global warming is leading to polar bear deaths by drowning. Yet the only documented drowning deaths occurred due to a freak storm, and polar bear numbers are growing substantially.

-- The film claims global warming threatens to halt the Gulf Stream and initiate a new ice age. The vast majority of scientists who have studied the issue have determined such a scenario is implausible.

-- The film asserts global warming is causing the destruction of coral reefs through bleaching. Scientists have identified other causes for coral bleaching and have additionally noted bleaching is a natural process by which coral continually selects ideal symbiotic algae.

-- The film asserts Greenland is in danger of rapid ice melt that will raise sea levels by 20 feet or more. The scientific consensus is that any foreseeable Greenland ice melt will be gradual and will take centuries to substantially raise sea levels.

-- The film asserts the Antarctic ice shelf is melting. In fact, only a small portion of Antarctica is getting warmer and losing ice mass, while the vast majority of Antarctica is in a prolonged cold spell and is accumulating ice mass.

"Also highlighted in court arguments was Al Gore's admission in Grist Magazine that 'I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it [global warming] is.'

"As a result of the partisan political nature of Gore's film, school teachers will not be allowed to show the movie without telling their students the film is scientifically controversial.

"The British High Court properly recognized that Al Gore's movie is nine parts political propaganda and one part science. Virtually every assertion that Gore makes in the movie has been strongly contradicted by sound science.

"The British court decision should guide teachers in the U.S. to similarly treat Gore's movie as the inaccurate and misleading propaganda tool that it is."

RON PAUL: A real chance at winning GOP nomination

From LewRockwell.com

No, Really
by Rick Fisk

While it represents less volume than responses stating agreement with my view of Ron Paul's electoral chances, a portion of the emails I have been receiving represent a belief that I am overstating the case. I get a few telling me that there aren't enough facts to support the case. I'm deluding myself and others or am simply naïve.

I was surprised that there are still some cynics represented amongst Ron Paul's supporters. I imagine them pacing back and forth, wondering if Dr Paul has a realistic shot at winning the GOP nomination. "Does this Fisk guy really believe what he's saying? Where's the polling data? Where's the real evidence? When is it okay for me to take the plunge? When will it be the right time so I don't look like an idiot optimist acting out of irrational exuberance?"

I see it as obvious, though I was a cynic prior to Ron Paul's Presidential bid. I prefer optimism. It's easier on the circulatory system. On the other hand, there is evidence and it's fair to ask.

Polling data is what seems to concern the doubters. Low polling numbers would appear to be an indictment. Last quarter in New Hampshire, Ron Paul was polling at 2% in those polls which included him.

This quarter, a recent poll in New Hampshire shows Ron Paul with 6%, 22% of those being black voters. That represents 66% increase over last quarter's poll numbers. Where his competitors are just jockeying for position, Ron Paul is gaining significantly. By the way, in 2000, only 10% of Black voters gave Bush the nod.

I've previously written about the way these polls are conducted and their usefulness in predicting outcomes (they can't by definition). However, there is historical data that also tends to support the idea that early polls are not reliable predictors.

In 2003, prior to the New Hampshire and Iowa primaries, Al Sharpton was beating John Kerry in the polls 5% to 4%. Kerry went on to win both primaries and shortly thereafter was polling nationally at 53%. That's either a very large bump or a very inaccurate result prior to the primary. There are currently a significantly high number of undecided voters (hovering between 17% and 21%) amongst the Republicans. In a field this large where only Dr. Paul has a platform that represents a real difference in policy, the "upset" factor leans heavily in Ron Paul's favor. Many of these undecideds are waiting to see how the race progresses before making a commitment.

Let's look at the other areas which should give us rational, objective reasons to question what the old media is attempting to sell the public.

Fundraising is another indicator of real support. Ron Paul raised 5 million last quarter which isn't as much as Thompson, Romney or Giuliani. But it represents a 114% increase over second quarter fundraising. It will also be used far more efficiently than other campaigns which have yet to acquire significant grass roots support for the money they've raised and spent so far. This is a very important issue. Romney has been running millions of dollars worth of television ads and does not have much to show for it. And more and more, old media members continue to hop on Ron Paul's bandwagon.

The bad news for Paul's competitors doesn't stop there. James Dobson who has inherited the Christian Coalition (now "Values Voters") is threatening to pull his support from the entire GOP field. Ron Paul doesn't necessarily need this segment of the Republican base to win the nomination but if we read Dobson's message correctly, he would get that support if he were the nominee. The "front-runners" have no chance of carrying the Party without them and it doesn't appear that any are pro-life enough for Dobson.

Romney's campaign stops in New Hampshire are drawing no more than 100 supporters and I'm being generous (many of those are old media representatives). At one stop, he managed to commit the dumbest campaign move so far: turn his back on a wheel-chair-bound Muscular Dystrophy sufferer, who asked if Romney would have him arrested for using medical marijuana, while the cameras rolled.

John McCain was caught on tape at an event where a whopping one supporter(s) showed up to see what he had to say.

Fred Thompson hasn't been on the trail very long, but has already been freeped by Ron Paul supporters at a stop in Iowa and had to literally request applause at a recent event attended by less than 50; perhaps they came merely out of curiosity given their apparent lack of enthusiasm for Thompson's positions.

Unless Tancredo, Brownback, Keyes, Hunter and Huckabee are saving up campaign event videos, there seems to be no significant interest in their candidacies except by the small number of people contacted via landline for opinions.

In short, the other candidates have been as exciting to potential voters as watching paint dry.

None of the GOP candidates have had much luck beating Ron Paul in straw polls either. It's hard to say how this might predict the outcome of primary elections. However, 14 of 30 first place finishes with 10 of 30 resulting in top 3 finishes is indisputable evidence that his chances are far more real than the old media is willing to admit. Many of the first place finishes were overwhelming landslides. If those represent party growth, we see another reason why Ron Paul has a very good chance to make history.

Meanwhile, Ron Paul has rarely drawn a crowd of less than 800 people for the past three months. On Saturday in Nashville, an event organized before his fundraising success had been announced, Dr. Paul drew a crowd of 1,440 at War Memorial auditorium. That was the crowd inside. Almost 100 people were turned away at the door because the venue was filled to capacity.

The prior week, in New Hampshire, at least 800 arrived to help the Paul Family canvas New Hampshire neighborhoods. These were not paid campaign staffers. Everyone there paid their own way, came from several surrounding states and worked all day to knock on some 12,000 doors in support of Ron Paul.

After last night's debates, Ron Paul held a rally in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I caught a little bit of this from the live feed. In my estimation, there were almost 2000 people there. The growth in just the past few days has been staggering. The campaign has reported a daily sign up of 20,000 new supporters. If that pace remains steady, the number of new supporters will reach 600,000 before November 1st. (Hello? McFly! Does this seem like a long shot to you?)

From New Hampshire to Washington, thousands upon thousands have gathered at Ron Paul appearances. If this were happening for any of the alleged front-runners, it would generate an inordinate amount of press coverage. It isn't happening. The rest of the field consists of paper tigers. Giuliani is said to "wow" crowds of 200.

New media types, even ones who are not necessarily Ron Paul supporters are openly saying that a Ron Paul upset in New Hampshire and Iowa is a very real possibility. Here's what David Kopel had to say:

"This weekend, I attended and spoke at the Second Amendment Foundation's annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, which was held at a convention center in northern Kentucky, a few miles away from Cincinnati. What I saw and heard there changed my mind about the viability of Ron Paul's presidential candidacy; Paul is going to far outperform the expectations laid out for him."

As a supporter, I could be accused of being overly optimistic merely because I want him to win. I predicted he would win back in June before there was evidence of the statistical sort. Not because I am particularly smart, psychic or able to time-travel. It was (and is) the fervor of his supporters and the amazing coalition he has united to the message of freedom which made it obvious to me that this campaign is historic.

Please, fence-sitters out there: this revolution will roll with or without you. Do something that you haven't done in a while and just get involved. Show up at an event, make a donation, believe. Oh, yeah, don't expect me to revert to cynicism any time soon.

The NHL is still clueless about their TV deal. I couldn't watch the Red Wings home opener because I don't have Versus channel. Nice.

There certain parts of SE Michigan, where people walk around like it's 1985. They way they dress, their hair. I feel like I'm a Bon Jovi concert. Do these people not celebrate New Years? Do they not have a calendar? It's kinda scary actually.

Great to see Ron Paul finally getting momentum and mention in the national media. He's coming to U of M next week to speak. Hopefully I can go out there. Some friends of mine in the military pretty much agree with his platform except for pulling out of Iraq. Somehow they take it personal. They shouldn't, because he isn't a peacnik and anti-American like most anti-war people. He just wants us to take care of our borders here, and go to war properly. Besides, people that vote for one issue are lame. You know who you are.

Gray or Grey is the worst color ever on anything. What looks good in that color?

I probably know 30 web developers. Each one is clueless and lazy when it comes to making money. They spend most of their free time playing video games, when they could be making a ton of money. I need developers, yet none have time. Those that commit just end up taking forever to get the work done. Does anyone know any developers that are willing to work? I have work. I have projects for them. They really tick me off.
developers

I saw the other day that they sell dog hair dye. Are you freaking kidding me?

If you are in Michigan, go here to recall the governor. http://www.petitiononline.com/id100207/petition.html

So I ask this girl who is working on the Clinton campaign how she could possibly support a socialist? This was her reply: " Sorry, I'm a Democrat. They say, those you go to College and study Politics become Democrats."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is lame. Yeah the building itself looks ok from the outside, but on the inside it will bore you to death. Actually I'm talking about the whole process. Someone tell me how Chic gets in before Rush or Metallica? What a joke.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Rep. John Dingell wants a 50-cents-a-gallon tax on gasoline. Dingell also wants to eliminate the mortgage tax deduction on what he calls "McMansions," homes that are 3,000 square feet and larger. That's because larger homes use more energy.

The new Springsteen CD is great. Three thumbs up!

Message of the Day
Recently I got blasted for what I said about the lame compilation of pop music and opera that Pavarotti and friends created a few years back. This person who says I shouldn't say anything negative about him so soon after his death, coz I also said he ate himself to death (figuratively not literally!) . I think she either misunderstood me, or she's just angry.

"I'LL LOOK YOU UP WHEN YOU ARE 71 AND SEE IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN DIVORCED, BECOME WORLWIDE FAMOUS AND HAD MILLIONS OF WOMEN
THROWING THEMSELVES AT YOU, AND IF YOU HAVE GAINED ANY WEIGHT. SOME ARE BORN WITH AN ENDOMORPHIC BUILD AND IF THAT'S HOW HE CHOSE TO EAT WHILE LIVING, THEN SO BE IT."
(Editors Note: this is happening to me now by the way!)

I was blasting this lame attempt to crossover opera and pop, not him. I love his music and he was the best at what he did. However I am not going to give props just because he attempted to do something out of commericalism. This person who blasts me says that it reached millions who may have never heard opera before. WHO CARES! It is still lame. I don't need Bryan Adams teaching me Opera. The ironic thing, is this person says I am bitter and small for having an incorrect opinion based on false pretense. I call that "pretentious" irony at it's best.
