Liberty: A Monopoly On Roads
John Stossel like Ron Paul is often shunned because of his profession, rather than credited for what he has to say. More often than not, it's just a cop out for those not interested in the truth.
Michigan has probably the worst runs in the country. Why is that? Because the state takes bids on lower grade concrete that doesn't last as long as higher grade concrete. Why? The lobbyists for these companies put pressure on the legislature to choose the lower grade - thus the roads are repaired more often. Who benefits? Not the people who use the roads. Not the insurance companies that have to pay out in claims for broken wheels cause by potholes.
The solution? Sell the roads to private companies. Check out this article from John Stossel. It makes sense. And before you blast him for being a reporter, try blasting the article. Bet you can't.
