Truth: Saving Detroit
Most say Detroit is dead. Include me in that list. However, what does exist is hope. While little of it there is, it does exist. I came across this gem from my friend Amber. Looks promising.
It is called DETROIT COLLEGE PROMISE, and it is modeled after the Kalamazoo Promise. It has worked in other areas of the country as well. It has merit and makes sense.

They are looking for all kinds of support, from people signing up to their email newsletter, to financial contributions and other volunteer work. They believe that once the word spreads about their program and more people know about it, then it will really take off. The old "ideas" of how to save Detroit are not working, and this is an innovative program whose time has come.
