I've noticed through the years on Facebook and Myspace that people always post their vacation pictures. Seems normal enough obviously. What I've noticed is that many Detroiters will always post "Chicago" and "Toronto" photos. Yet I never see Chicago or Toronto folks list their "Detroit" vacation photos. .
Perhaps I'm not privy to such information just based on logistics, but I doubt that's the case.
When people I know come in from out of town, I struggle to take them anywhere when it comes to Detroit. I have to think real hard to figure out what there is to do in Detroit. What is there to see?
I don't want to be anti-Detroit; I want the opposite actually. Yet I struggle on where to take people. When I ask friends for advice I get the standard: Greektown, Tigers Game, Henry Ford Museum. Then it's all up in the air. Oh yeah, I can always take them to a smokey casino.
Inevitably I take them to hokey Frankenmuth, Mackinac, Windsor, or Ann Arbor which isnt Detroit. I know there has to be more to do and see, but I struggle. Help me.
If you wanted to go to Detroit where would want to go? If you are from Detroit where do you take people to pass the time? Hook a brotha up!
