Truth: I Can't Hear You!!!
Do you ever notice that there are certain people who always have to be heard when speaking? They make sure that whatever they say can be heard by everyone at all times. They speak loudly naturally, but they also over project words to emphasize clarity. Not to mention when they do yell or speak loudly, they are always looking around to see who else is listening. I'm sure they don't want to miss anyone.
These people also tend to look up in the air when they are speaking. I don't know what they are looking at, but they look up over your head. They also laugh really loud at the lame and unfunny things in order to fit it seems. When it's something serious, they really extend on how serious things are.
I've noticed these people when talking to each other, tend to really turn it up a notch. They exaggerate whatever is funny, they scream, they laugh even louder if need be. They try to out shout each other. I've noticed they even begin to shake their bodies and really use their hands.
Needless to say they may have charm, charisma, and exuberance. Yet they are not conversationalists. Sure they talk like crazy, but its all one sided. They don't hear you, they only want to hear themselves. Freakin robots.
I really try to not look at these people when they are speaking. I feel if I do, I'm giving them license to carry on. On the flip side, if I don't look at them they may try harder to get their point across to the world. It's a no win situation.
I wonder if they are attention whores, or if they lack self esteem? Perhaps a few people have embellished their behavior in the past and it works for them after a while?
