What the hell is this bridge supposed to be anyways?  This is located on I-94 and US 24 in Taylor, Michigan.  This was made in 2005 to welcome those coming to Detroit for the Super Bowl.  It was supposed to represent 2 footballs in a gateway type architecture.

Here's the kicker.  It won an architecture contest.  

Big Whoop!

I love unique architecture, and while this may be structurally sound...it's completely POINTLESS.  Pointless to the tune of $14 milllion.   Yep, that's right...in a city that is now boasting an unemployment rate of 28%, they can say they have a football bridge.

How many people come to Detroit to see this bridge? I'm thinking ZERO.  I could be wrong; there could be a handful of bridge freaks that want to take a picture of this mess for sure.  This is reason #456788 why Detroit sucks.
