So congress, the most out of touch members of society, applaud this guy. A foreigner, who is responsible for millions of illegals leaving his country and into ours. Now why are they leaving his country?
Perhaps we should lecture the president of Mexico to get a clue. We also need to lecture our congress on how to treat foreign guests who try to lecture us. Especially when their laws are completely different. He smacks of hypocrisy.
It makes me sick when members of congress become teammates of each other, rather than standing up for something right or for good. You don't have to agree with Arizona, but you don't agree with someone who is undermining our economy and who is lecturing us. It's more of the apologize for American train that the democrats have been so hell bent on riding.
You want to fix immigration? Give those wanting to come over an opportunity to work here legally, learn our language, our history and then they can try to become a citizen. Only if though, there are jobs available. I'm not talking under the counter or government jobs either. I mean, they need to wait in line for real jobs before they can come over. There are jobs for these people, let's just do it right. That's all.
Countries have borders for a reason. My anarchist friends will point out the flaw of my support for my borders no doubt. That's fine, I'm an idealist too...but realistically borders for now aren't going away. So let's make it work properly.
I enjoyed this speech by Congressman McClintock. I thought it was great.

...It is highly inappropriate for the President of Mexico to lecture Americans on American immigration policy, just as it would be for Americans to lecture Mexico on its laws.
It is obvious that President Calderon does not understand the nature of America or the purpose of our immigration law. ..."
