It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Here is my problem with concerts. Once they are over, all you have are memories. You can't go home and watch the highlights. You can't watch the replay. It's just done forever. That along with a ticket stub and t-shirt you shell $40 on is all you get.
What should happen is, every time you purchase a concert ticket, you get a free download of the concert. On your ticket stub is a code, that you enter in for your free file.
Every show will be recorded, and when it is over it is available for download for each ticket. Don't want the download?...charge less for the ticket on the original price. DRM (Digital Rights Management) that file if they want so it cant be shared. Watermark it...whatever. Even if it is shared, so what! There are so many concerts it's not like the black market is going to bolster the price because of the demand for them.
I saw Paul McCartney. I would have love to relive that concert, instead of taking some hand held jerky motion video clips from my cell phone.
I understand with most large music performers each show is videotaped anyways. Why not give it to the fans?
I just don't get it. The technology is here for this. Just do it. I'd take responsibility for this idea or copyright it, but I'm just a peon. Have at it.
I think of all the 50 or so concerts I've been to over the years and how I would have love to have them on tape. Imagine different camera views, not just main floor or stage view. Views from every angle in the house, just like a concert.
