It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Every year I tell myself that I will not return to play Fantasy Football. Every year I ignore myself, and play again. And again, and again, and again. I think this is year 12 of being in two leagues...or something like that. I forget. Between football, baseball, and hockey...it is all a blur. In fact members of those leagues wonder how I forget the rules, when I was the one who designed them to begin with. There is just too much to care about, and it gets confusing. Yeah, I know...quit making excuses.
So why do I play fantasy football? Well obviously football is king and I love it. However talking about it with the guys is fun. People in other leagues can talk to you about it, and help you out. The biggest reason is to employ strategy in trades and picks ups. Projecting and forecasting, I find it fun. More fun than even watching the games sometimes.
Now I'm in a very intense dynasty league. 16 teams, 20 players, offense and defense. Most people are in a soft league 10 to 12 teams with the usual small all star selection. Boring. Wimpy. Waste of time. In this league you must do your homework and know both sides of the ball. The only thing we exclude are penalties and offensive lineman. If there was a way to measure O-lineman, then we would find a way to use it.
So until I decide at the end of this season to not play again, I have to focus on this years team at hand. By the way, you can ask me about players and trade scenarios, I welcome that stuff. Oh, and I don't talk sports with chicks. Fantasy football was created to get away from chicks, hello!
