Truth: Craving A Simpler Time

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I often hear people tell me how great it would be to live in the 1950's. Life was more simple and easy. It was just poodle skirts and rock and roll. Leave it to Beaver and Buddy Holly. Alas talk to someone who grew up in the 1950's and their recollection is the same. I tend to think that if that was your time, you loved it.

For me, I'm a child of the 70's and 80's...so it is what I like. I was impressionable, young..things were new. I latched on to sports heroes, rock bands, games, fashions, and trends. News of that era is what I know when it comes to Trivia. I suppose children of the 1990's say the same thing about that decade, which to me has to be the most non-descript boring decade ever.

When I ask people about the 1990's they say Grunge music. Really? that's all you have for that? Well I for one tend to agree...boring. I'm sure many events and inventions happened in the 90's. So it's probably just perspective or perception.

If your life is busy, you are going to miss out on what the world is offering. If you are swamped, you'll take new events and occurrences at face value, not have time to soak it in or study. It becomes just another episode in a series of episodes. Life becomes one predictable event after another.

Simply your life, and this decade can be the one you treasure most. Slow down Holmes, life is passing you by. Inventions and ingenuity just passed you by. Be free, it's a choice.
