Truth: Talk Is Cheap

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  Talk is cheap they say.  They say don't tell me you love me, just show me you love me.  For me telling me is fine, as long as your actions don't say the opposite.  It also applies to everyday small talk.  I'm not one for small talk.

I've been told it is important to say Good Morning and Hello.  I've been told this for years.  My mom would always say Good Morning and it took everything out of me to reply. Usually I grumbled.

I still grumble.  Acknowledging me is cool.  A head nod. A wink is suffice.  A fist bump is cool.  But do you have to ask me how my weekend was?  Do you have to ask me how I am? I"m just going to lie to you most likely.  If I'm not feeling well do you really want to know?  If I'm feeling great is that going to make you feel any better?

I am not complaining. I'm begging for more.  Get to the point.

Pointers: Did you see that 4th Touchdown pass by Aaron Rodgers? I went to the Sting concert and it was great! The presidential debate was a real snoozer. I still don't like Cleary playing on that line.  The shwarma I made was fantastic, I will give you the recipe.

You see it's to the point.  None of this HI, HELLO, HOW ARE YOU. Get to the point already.  Why am I not alone in this? Think about how much more effective life would be if you removed the silly pleasantries and got to the point.  You could really get to know someone much quicker or engage in great conversation.  Think about how many hours a year you have said Good Morning in total.

Get to the point friends. Get to the point.
