Liberty: Smoking Idiots

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  No no no this isn't a rants against you morons who smoke.  It isn't a rant against you morons who smoke and give me the "you don't understand" speech either. No no no...it's not for you morons.  You guys I gave up on long ago.  I don't care. You guys I get have a mental weakness that forces you to grasp on to something addictive.  Hey, none of my business.  That's your own problem or deal.  I'm a libertarian (small "l"), so if you want to kill yourself or you have some vice, it's no skin off of my back.  Be free.

However there is one thing I just go nuts on with some of you other smoking morons.  Well two things when you include polluting the earth with cigarette butts.   It is when I see an adult smoking in front of a kid.  That drives me NUTS.

Look if you are an adult, then kill yourself. Go for it. But give the kid a break. A chance.  Why would you smoke in front of your kid?  Why would you teach them to see the world in a such a myopic depressing point of view?

Kids are our hope. Kids are innocent. Do your best to protect them and teach them the right way.  Maybe your idiot friends or parents taught you the wrong way...but that doesn't justify your stupidity.  Seriously why don't you just jump off a bridge or in front of a car instead of breeding more of you?

The good news is...there's a very good chance your kid will have a clue and get it.  That they will in fact be better than you despite you not trying.  That's the human spirit, that's the human condition to overcome stupid things. However, it's a long road and it's a tough battle to overcome.  I've seen it quite often lately and that makes me pretty angry.

Am I preaching? Yes. Am I judging? Yes.  Got a light? Yes, but it's not in your head.
