It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I've about had it with road construction. The season just started and it is a complete mess. Miles and miles of orange barrels an no one working in sight.
Does anyone pay attention to this setup? We all know the the department of transportation on any and all levels is essentially useless. The proof is the amount of time, and money spent fixing the roads which were not constructed or designed properly to begin with.
The other day I'm in a 30 minute back up to go a half a mile There is this STUPID automatic machine directing traffic. So what does this machine do? It gives a green light to the east traffic for 3 minutes. Then it gives a green light to the west traffic for 10 seconds. How many cars can go by in 10 seconds from a stop? Umm...that would be 4. Yes 4 cars could go, then it would change to red for 3 more freaking minutes.
I was beside myself. Could the machine be broken? No! Some idiot programmer...a pencil neck geek civil engineer or some construction worker who had one too many timbits at lunch did this.
As I finally was let through, and drove by the STUPID machine, I reved my engine in disgust at the one worker who was there. I yelled "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!". He just looked at me like "DUH! What are you talking about? I'm just doing my job". Shut up moron.
I've had it. I'm not a road rage person by any means; but geezus it has to stop. Hours upon hours of unproductive time. Who wants to drive anymore when you have to deal with this garbage?
Make the roads better. Make it so when you do have to fix them, you aren't shutting down the world.

ReplyDelete....come to Miami and drive ...if you want to see STUPID.....yes we are famous for the school road sign, SHCOOL....we have a lot of people from a lot of other countries, most have never even seen a car till they washed up on our shores, and the first thing they do is ---get a car, then a driver's license---in that order.....two weeks ago they were riding a mule up a path in a mountain, now they are hurling down the interstate @ 90mph....turn signal,safe braking distance,sorry no speak English,,,, our road signs are now in 3 languages, spanish--french cerol and english--not that anyone can read down here........oooo the joys of south florida ......PS those signals that let you onto to interstate....they started down here , we have had them for about 4 years now.....talk about sticking a fork in your eye.....
