I have many lawyer friends, some of the best people I know. I am not jabbing their profession. I am questioning society's need to have lawyers, legal representation, council at every turn and facet of life.
If people aren't suing, they are getting sued. Insurance claims, companies, injury, malpractice...it is everywhere. On television, on bill boards, on the radio are advertisements for large law firms waiting to take your call and your case. You are the victim and they want to help you fight the big guy.
Nothing wrong with some capitalism or marketing in my mind. It is just that it is everywhere. In order for that advertising to occur, business must be good. If business is good, then the costs of companies paying out lawsuits and for litigation is passed on to you.
So while your neighbor wins a $50,000 lawsuit against a company where he has been wronged...they will ultimately pass those costs on to their customers. You see how that works naturally?
All I am saying is I see more advertisements everyday, more than ever before. Business must good. I see them on city buses too.
What do you think?
| Thanks to Gumba Sal from Detroit for this pic...a local attorney who advertises everywhere. Some grafitti punks got a hold of this bus and had their way with her. Ouch! |
