Truth - Music Controls You

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  When I was in High School I listened to alot of heavy metal rock and roll.  I knew every band, every song, and was always in search for the odd diamond in the rough song.   Too much probably, but at the time just groovy.

One day I heard Black Sabbath playing on the radio.  Something weird happened.  I got scared.  I got this weird spooky feeling all over me inside. I was creeped out. I don't know what it was, or what happened.  Immediately though, I turned it off.

I did not listen to Black Sabbath the same ever again.  Still to this day, if I hear it, I don't get spooked...but I think about the exact time I was spooked.  Some people see ghosts, some feel them, some just get spooked by something.   This song, just freaked me out.  I heard it 100 times.

Now scientifically there probably is a logical explanation.  I don't know what that is though. I may never know.  The fact remains, I was spooked out it.  Freaked out. Creeped out.

Since that time, I have chosen carefully the music I listen too.  I make sure occult stuff is far away from the playlist.  I keep any gangsta hip hop stuff away too, and I avoid silly pop songs that are meaningless.

Some say I should just lighten up.  I think though music is very important.  I think you need to listen to good music, not just simple fun music.  But music that is complex in overtones, in beats, in progressions.  I think your brain demands it.  Anything else is just tribalism, along with simplistic words that can rot your brain.

Ever feel stupid watching a dumb TV show?  Music has the same effect...more so sub consciously.  Listen to opera, jazz, progressive rock, alternative progressive, classical...this will do more for your body, mind, and soul than something that keeps you dumb and a zombie.

I got creeped out, don't wait.  Don't let what is popular send you down the wrong path just because.

"Give me the music of a nation and I care not who makes its laws, I will control its people. –Plato"

It sounds like you're trying to define music for the rest of us; and all of the subcategories are ridiculous. (yes, I know you didn't come up with 'em. just another everyone gets a trophy thing, like weight classes in boxing)

Opera?!!!! If I listen to opera we'll be able to use it as a defense in court when I start deflating all the fat screechers on stage!
