One Man's Junk

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. They say one man's junk is another man's treasure. Is that really the case always?  I think often about all of the stuff-junk-things that I have thrown away in my lifetime.

I've thrown away newspapers, chairs, furniture, computers, televisions, wire, cable, tools, appliances, carpet, wood, steel, iron, plastic, utensils, food.  You name it, I've thrown it out.  Well with the exception of baseball cards - let's not get crazy.

This photo attached I took of a boat that was just sitting on a street several years back. It wasn't in the greatest neighborhood either.   I drove by a year later, and it was still there. So this boat, is just junk. I don't think anyone owns it, but someone left it there.  Sure it might have been stolen but still belonged to someone. Why was this boat hull sitting in the street?  Could it be salvaged?

Who picks it up?  Who throws it out?  Who would use it?  Ever drive by a landfill and just think about all of the stuff there that actually has value?  You know the guys (the sheeny men) who drive by in the evening with old pick up trucks...they take everyone's junk. I know they aren't making a killing, but there has to be some value there for them, else they wouldn't do it.

Things are just things...they often become just junk or treasures.  It's your call.  I wonder what happened to that boat.
