It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I don't know why this bugs me, but it really does. The media, whether mainstream or local is obsessed about imaging for their journalists/reporters/ anchormen.
Every one of them has to show off their talents. Everyone of them has to tell us about a family member that has died or is dealing with cancer. They have to tell about their personal struggles and let us know how many kids they have. They have to
It's all emotional tugging in order to get people to "CARE" about them and watch more. Well you know what it does for me? It makes me want to kick the TV and yell SHUT UP.
Please, and this is a recording...just give me the news. Don't bring the camera to your house, so we can see how you live. No one cares. You aren't that important.
Do you really care to be connected with the local television reporter? I mean I personally don't need to know, and I actually know some of them. They are great people. I just don't want to see it on the television. Where the hell is John Chancellor or David Brinkley these days?
This is all busy time, designed to keep you distracted from the real important issues - YOU.

Unfortunately, some of the idiots watching the tube do find it important. I have no idea why; they're all just paid performers, not even reporters. They can sit there and read a teleprompter, so what? But, people (viewers) are stupid.
