Truth - Celebrity Slappy

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  I saw this show on television the other day. It was between innings so I was channel surfing. I don't know the name of it.  It was celebrities playing games with regular folks. Games like word association, pictionary, charades...that type of thing. There was one celebrity team vs. another team.  Each team had a lowly peasant on their team with them.

You see right off the bat it gives the celebrities this upper special labeling above the regular people (us, me, you). That bothers me. What?...celebrities can play games to?  They can guess?  They can figure out puzzles?  Why how wonderful of them to come down from their mighty perches to take the time and play.

I didn't know all of the celebrities...just a handful.  I can tell you this, I didn't enjoy the show.  It was not funny.  It reminded me of celebrity Jeopardy.  They each have to say something dumb/funny in order to be heard/seen.  It's so contrived its not funny.

Celebrities are people too.  The media machine meant to keep them up and running is fueled by you.  You buy the magazines, see the movies, watch the shows, follow them around.  Hey I've been guilty too.  However please share with me in knowing they are just people too. They really don't deserve all that praise and admiration. Do they?  I don't think so. I'd appreciate them more without the fluff.
